What is Alliance?
AYSO Alliance is club soccer - a competitive soccer program designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills, and abilities, and to enhance each player's experience and individual growth through the game of soccer while retaining the spirit and organization of AYSO. Teams in the Alliance program compete in club leagues in Southern California and both AYSO and open club tournaments.
When are the Tryouts for Alliance?
The tryout dates and times for Alliance can be found on our Alliance Tryout Page. Teams are formed just a few weeks after tryouts.
What is the Quality of Coaching/Training in the Alliance Program?
All Alliance coaches possess both AYSO and USSF certifications as a requirement for selection. All of our coaches go through additional training and education to keep their skills and knowledge of the game up to date. As well, professional trainers can also be used to work with the teams/players to further develop and enhance their skills. These sessions focus on technical and tactical development of all players, as well as keeper training for those players who play that position.
What are the Costs Associated with Alliance?
The cost of the program will be roughly 1/3 the cost of a for-profit club soccer program. It consists of:
- AYSO regular season registration fee.
- Alliance fee (which includes: uniforms, field usage, professional trainers, club registration, league registration, state cup and referee fees)
The only fee not included is tournament fees, which will vary depending on the number of tournaments your team coach and team parents decide to participate in.
How are Costs so Low?
AYSO Alliance leverages highly qualified volunteer coaches and harnessing the power of the largest soccer network in the nation to keep costs low so more families can play soccer. Additionally, Financial Aid is available upon application through the region.
How Many Tournaments do Alliance Teams Participate In?
There is no limit but most teams play between 4-6 tournaments in Spring and 1-3 tournaments in Fall.
What is the Season Game Schedule Like for Alliance?
Alliance teams will participate in a _______ - fall and spring seasons, approximately 15 games in fall and 10 games in spring, as well as State Cup.
Will Alliance Team Players Have Fall or Spring Team Conflicts?
No. Alliance teams are formed after the Spring season is over and before the Fall season begins.. Players will never have to choose between the two.
Can an Alliance player play on a Fall or Spring Core Team?
Under certain circumstances Alliance players can participate in Core, however, all players must be divided evenly among Core teams.
